Another busy week this week....
We are all so over painting rooms!!! not quite there yet though...still have the lounge and the kitchen to go...John seems to think the lounge will be quite quick to paint as the walls don't have much prep to do on them, so we should be able to crack on with painting....still it is all the furniture moving and putting back that is wearing me out!

Zoe has a newly painted and madeover bedroom
We are flying through the renovations at the moment due to the terrible weather, means John has no outside work so inside painting at home is quite appealing....Zoe has a beautiful fresh new looking room that really doesn't feel anything like her old room...the separating of my 2 little lovelies has gone extremely well and I think the timing was perfect, Zac loves his new room and is so happy to go to bed,he sleeps like a dream...never hear a peep from him(never have!) and Zoe was so excited with her new room last night she found it hard to settle down and get to sleep(too cute)....she says each time she walks in she can't believe it is hers and that it all looks so beautiful....she has been so proud to show people and her and Willow just hung out all afternoon in there...what more could a girl want than a nice place to hang out....lucky kids...

I knew Winter wasn't over!
After a rough start to winter and a couple of big early snow falls we all thought that we were in for a long cold winter! We then experienced a month or so of very mild weather the grass continued to grow, bulbs popped up early and some of us had to mow our lawns in July! Thinking things were looking rosy was not to last for long....This Sunday in the early hours of the morning it started to rain...I am writing this on Monday evening and it is still raining!! The photos will show it all.
Me and John had to go up to the cows paddock and rescue them at 10pm last night, the paddock they were in had the river break and consume the whole thing ...with a bit of encouragement and a lot of yelling they decided to come out the gate and move up in the dark to the neighbours property on the hill...Thank goodness we moved them when we saw where the water level had peaked they would have been pretty frightened cows if they had stayed in that paddock...The horses were also very pleased when we moved them into the shed....in the pitch black. The river broke at the valley road bridge and the road turned into a river that flowed down the main road outside our house we had to move the horse float in case it came any higher and tried to take it away!
Well daylight revealed all...water water everywhere...my hayshed has 4 inches of silt floating in it...can't stand the thought of pulling out all the sodden bails of hay in there..yuck messy! The horses spent all day in the shed peering out and as for the rest of us...the kids got a bonus day off school which they loved, the dogs have slept all day and all in all at least we have a lovely home to keep warm and dry in....

One hallway completed...onto the next room
Finally we have completed the hallway...this was my least favourite room in the house with its pink painted scrim on the walls and dark brown wooden panels, doors and door frames...so after a fair bit of effort from both of us it is now completed....We love the old original wooden panels we found underneath the scrim and decided to keep them, we painstakingly stripped the doors and frames and then painted the wooden panels at the bottom....looks so good now....feels like a nice place to walk through to 2 of the bedrooms and the front door...watch this space now...we have nearly completed Zacs new bedroom, the paint is on the walls and the carpet coming today...photos to come soon.

Bedroom 4 is nearly completed....
We have added another room to the house to future proof the bedroom arrangements as the kids grow older....what used to be one side of our verandah is now a cute little room...John has done all the work himself and just this week we have had the electrician come and finish off and Skippy has been to do the gib stopping...so not to far off now, this room was going to be for Hayley to sleep in and for me to have my sewing stuff, but Zac has decided he wants to move in, so all going to plan that is what is going to happen.Time will tell if he is really ready to move out of a bedroom with his sister or not...his sister is ready for him to move out...well secretly she probably isn't! They have lasted well Zoe is 11 and Zac is 8 and they have always shared a bedroom....I love listening to them chatting away to each other after lights out or first thing in the morning....so sweet
